Comet is the grocery store to go to for good prices on fresh meats. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also have the best price for bagged ice, cigarettes, and produce.
Prices a little steep for regular groceries, but the meat and deli department is awesome! This is best local place for quality meat, and that's why I rate it a 5 star
I can remember going to Comet with my father while he got his weeks worth of lunch meat (great deli!), his stock up in meats and an array of other groceries. I've never gotten my meats from anywhere but here. They're always having specials on their meat prices. Manager Specials, Special of the Week. Good Good deals ! They've really made a difference in the years with the new foods they've brought in, I'm impressed. I love the evening staff :). Gotta have my cookies n cream ice cream! Oh ... Nothing better than going out the door and into Dollar General for what you may need there. Love you COMET !
Comet has that rare quality only found in food stores in local, nonchains. If you want odd or old school items, this is the place. Limburger, oxtail, marscapone, rum mincemeat, pear chai jam, fresh turkey for Thanksgiving, here it is! I really appreciate the shipping boxes they save up front for customers that would prefer a box to a bag. And if you need help, everyone who I've met is anxious to assist. And if there is something you want they don't carry, they will order in to see if it will sell.
