I am a grad student who needed a place to stay off-campus. Eagle Park provided a low-cost, very quiet, and safe building for me to stay. The building has good security and lighting. They go above and beyond when it comes to salting and shoveling.
One big plus is that the free student bus(with ID) to school and Walmart/hospital, etc. stops here right out in front. The apartment has a small shuttle bus as well. If you miss the BIG bus or just don't enjoy a big bus, you can usually catch the little shuttle. Being from several hundred miles away, I had my car and could easily drive to school. Still, if it was nice out, I would usually just walk. A lot of kids ride a bike. It's only really a 10-15 minute walk to most of the halls on the science,art,student association,social science, and gym complex.
If I could give this place no stars I would they are the worst nothing but money hungry. Their security guard wanted my microwave and they charged me a disposing fee , they avoided all of my emails and call to tell me they were not going to reimburse me for the microwave charge . Over all a pathetic place to live .
A graduate mostly wants silence for study. When you are graduate level in college housing, it can be a little frustrating, because of the volume level of the younger students. I can honestly say, I did not have a problem here. Other apartments in the area that I looked at were drafty and cold in the winters. This place seems to have been in good condition and heated well. Another plus, is my hometown is several hours away, so having the apartment pre-furnished REALLY helped.
Take the one-star review with a grain of salt. There is a lot of immaturity up here at this college. The people in the business office and the security guard were very kind to me for the duration of my stay. If you follow the rules, pay your rent, and act like a responsible adult, you definitely won't have a problem here. Take that from an older student who has been around the block a couple times.
